The 7 Different Teeth Whitening Strips

People wanting to whiten their teeth like celebrities on TV or in teeth whitening commercials look forward to using Crest whitestrips. However, most people become confused when making a choice between the 7 different Crest whitestrips models available. This article will give you a run down on the many versions of Crest Whitestrips available.

1. Crest Whitestrips Classic

This is the first Crest whitestrips ever to set foot in the market. It is also the weakest model, as it only has 6% hydrogen peroxide (the ingredient that dentists use to remove embedded stains in your teeth). It is true that dentists use the same ingredient, but they use a much stronger concentration of hydrogen peroxide. This version might have worked for many people, but it is the most effective model available, as other models have a much stronger teeth whitening gel.

However it is suitable for people with sensitive teeth. Having extra sensitive teeth is a side effect caused by overusing whitestrips. This is not a serious side effect at all, because the problem can be solved by brushing with fluoride toothpaste or gargling fluoride water for 30 seconds.

That’s why using Crest whitestrips classic is most suitable for older teenagers looking to whiten their teeth. Any other models might be too strong for young, growing teeth.

The classic version comes in a box with 56 strips, 28 for the upper set of teeth and 28 for the lower set of teeth. It takes a full 2 weeks, and 30 minutes twice a day to get maximum effect. The product claims it can whiten teeth for 12 months, but this is only possible if the user avoids any teeth staining activities after using whitestrips. This includes smoking, and drinking teeth staining drinks such as coffee, lemonade and coke (you might be surprised to know that coke is actually one of the weakest teeth staining drinks!)

2. Crest Whitestrips Professional

This model arrived soon after Classic. The name makes it sound much more effective; however it is only a little stronger than the Classic model. It has 6.5% hydrogen peroxide gel, which is also suitable for teenagers or people with over sensitive teeth. Again, sensitive teeth are a very simple side effect which can be handled easily.

This product is available as a 3 week-supply; with 84 strips (42 upper and 42 lower). The strips should be worn 30 minutes, twice a day.

3. Crest Whitestrips Premium

This one is one of the most popular models sold on the market today, because it has significantly more whitening power than its predecessors. Although the 10% hydrogen peroxide is still considered low compared to dentist level teeth whitening, it will work well for many people, especially people with yellow teeth. Crest Whitestrips has a weaker effect on grey teeth.

This one comes with 28 strips, which are to be used for 7 days, two 30 minute sessions a day. You will be able to see small results in 3 days, but a better smile. It is very difficult to achieve near-perfect white teeth with this version.

4. Crest Whitestrips Premium Plus

Crest Whitestrips Premium Plus is the same thing as Premium, but with more strips. There is a 10 day supply of 40 strips, 20 for upper and 20 for lower. The whitening gel is the same at 10% hydrogen peroxide. Also costs a little more than Premium.

Premium plus is a better choice than the Premium one just because there are more strips. More strips are always better to make up for the weak concentration. The results achieved within the 10 days procedure will not be as bright some would expect. Again, this one works much better for yellow stains than grey stains.

5. Crest Whitestrips Supreme

This one is the king of the product line. It has 14% hydrogen peroxide, which is what dentists use to whiten teeth in their offices. It is the most expensive of the models, and there are 84 strips, that are to be worn 30 minutes once or twice per day. They are very effective, but the major problem is that they can only be bought from the dentist and are not available in stores.

6. Crest Whitestrips Renewal

This is another model that is specially marketed towards older generation customers as “age-defying strips”. These strips are almost the same as the Premium ones, as they contain 9.5% hydrogen peroxide gel. There are 40 strips, 20 for the upper and 20 for the lower teeth. However it costs less than the Premium and Premium Plus.

7. Crest Whitestrips Daily Multicare

The newest member of the family, Daily Multicare has an unknown concentration of hydrogen peroxide as of now. What we do know is that Daily Multicare is definitely stronger than Classic, but weaker than Premium, as its official website states “If you are looking for faster whitening results, you may want to try the Premium”

Crest Whitestrips Supreme is the best way to go to achieve super beautiful white teeth. However the only problem is that it is only available from the dentist. There are alternatives to the Supreme version that can have better and longer lasting effects than Crest Whitestrips Supreme.
